ANOMALY

What if an anomaly isn’t something to correct?
What if it’s a direction?
For this Hedonist shoot, our stylist and photographer noticed an unexpected visual distortion in the space. It could easily have been treated as something distracting — something to crop out, hide or simply ignore.

Instead, they decided to follow it.
The anomaly became part of the composition. It influenced the styling, the positioning of the model and the way the clothes interacted with the space. What initially looked like an imperfection became one of the most distinctive elements of the images.

And this is exactly where inspiration can begin.
We often look for inspiration in obvious places: fashion references, trends, colours, beautiful locations, carefully designed interiors. But sometimes inspiration is already sitting right in front of us — in something strange, unexpected or slightly out of place.

An anomaly can be a push.
It can make you look twice. It can make you change direction. It can make you experiment with a combination you wouldn’t normally consider.

So don’t always try to make things perfect.
Notice the unusual.
Follow the distortion.
Play with proportions.
Combine unexpected things.
Let the space influence the look.
And when something doesn’t quite fit — maybe that’s exactly where you should start.

Anomaly is not necessarily a mistake.
It can be inspiration.
It can be a direction.
So embrace it, play with it, and make it your own.
It’s a lot of fun.
